CITY SERVICES BENEFIT CARD:

June 21, 2017

Toronto Employment & Social Services is replacing the City Services Benefit Card with a different payment card.

As of July 1, 2017, the City Services Benefit Card (CSBC) will be inactive and no longer usable. Any remaining funds should be accessed by June 30, 2017.

The CSBC card is an All Trans Financial Prepaid Card product.

After June 30, 2017, to access any remaining balance above $2.50 on your CSBC card, please visit the All Trans Financial Prepaid Card website at www.alltrans.com

Follow the instructions on this website to fill out the "Request for funds" online form to have your refund request processed. You will be asked to provide your name, CSBC card number and Client Member ID.

Once the form has been submitted, a cheque will be mailed to the address you provide on the form, within 5 to 10 business days. If you do not have an address, you can select a location to pick up your cheque from a list of Toronto Employment & Social Services offices within 7 to 12 business days. Please contact the office ahead of time to confirm that your refund cheque is ready for pick up.

Toronto Employment & Social Services is replacing the City Services Benefit Card (CSBC) with a different payment card.

Any funds that are remaining on the CSBC card cannot be transferred to another card and will no longer be available as of July 1, 2017.

Here are some ways to access your remaining funds on the CSBC card – you will need to know your card balance:
  • withdraw cash from an automated teller machine (ATM)
     
  • use your CSBC card when you are making a purchase at a retail store (where payment cards are accepted)
     
  • apply the remaining funds toward an online bill such as a utility bill
     
Please call your Ontario Works caseworker if you have any questions or concerns.

If you do not currently have an Ontario Works caseworker you can call Toronto Employment & Social Services Client Services Unit 416-392-2956.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The "VALID THRU" date printed on the front of your card is an expiry date. If this expiry date falls within the next 3 months, please contact your caseworker to arrange for a replacement card.

TEMPORARY BLOCK:
Please be advised that for security purposes, we have placed a temporary block on transactions originating in specific countries. Currently your card will accept transactions originating in Canada, USA, Netherlands and Sweden. Transactions outside these designated countries will be rejected. This message will be updated as additional countries become available. Thank you for your patience and cooperation in this matter.
